The Corey Craig Group development team announced plans to proceed with construction of the prestigious Hyatt Place Hotel on lands adjacent the new Moncton Events Centre following a meeting with Moncton City Council on December 18th. The Corey Craig Group is buying city owned land following a unanimous decision from Council to approve a sales agreement with the Moncton-based real estate developer. “We’re absolutely delighted with this, ” Moncton Mayor Dawn Arnold said to the Times Transcript, adding that investments in revitalizing downtown have paid off.
The 120 room hotel will include a branded restaurant, flexible meeting spaces, a breakfast area and bar as well as a fitness centre complete with an indoor pool. Architects Four is part of the project team being managed by Rice Contracting Ltd., who are acting as project and construction managers for the process. Construction is expected to begin in Spring 2018.
